It's finally feeling like the holidays around here. The main areas of the house are unpacked, and thanks to Craig's List, we were quickly able to move the boxes out the door. It feels really nice to have this house feeling like home.
Last Friday we braved some chilly, dismal weather and headed to find a Christmas tree. We decided on a lovely Fraser Fir and upon setting out to decorate it, I discovered a perfectly crafted little bird's nest tucked in the top branches! I figure we couldn't have picked a better tree since a Momma bird had chosen it before us. The tiny bird's nest now sits atop our mantle accompanied by garlands and red berries.
Speaking of our mantle...I have discovered two things about having a fireplace.
Thing 1: My husband builds incredible, roaring fires with great ease.
Thing 2: I kill fires with great ease.
It seems a simple enough skill, but alas, it's one I am without. :-p
Baby girl on the other hand has developed some skills that kill us with cuteness. Lately she's learned to wave at people when we're saying hello. I'm pretty sure she's also saying "hi", but maybe that's just me. The other day, while listening to Christmas music, we were playing on the floor and I started be-bopping to the tune. Olivia looked up at me and being on her knees began bopping up and down, "dancing" too! She is SO much fun!!!
Time for me to run - more updates to come! :)
