They have endured drought, extreme heat, lost a few comrades in the trenches...urr, coop (which you know of course could have caused extreme chicken depression...if they weren't so resilient), have ignored the presence of lurking skunks and opossum, have braved being driven at 75mph down a freeway, crossed a large river, survived a 250 mile trip, and are now making the transition into becoming domesticated city chickens. The country will always be in their hearts, but they will sojourn on into new territory of being suburb-chicks with their heads held high.
In spite of the horrors they've faced, they still take pride in producing some mighty beautiful eggs.
So hens, here's to you and your dark yolked, thick shelled, delicious eggs!
