Service:
~ Family and friends who have given and offered their help to us, be it physical, spiritual, or emotional support. God has shown His love through the Body of Christ.
~ All of the people who have brought and are bringing us dinner have been such a sweet blessing to our new little family. It's an enormous relief to know that I don't have to try and juggle preparing something in the midst of my continued recovery and caring for a newborn(e).
~ My darling husband being there for me while I've labored, rejoiced, cried, or been delusional from a lack of sleep/new-Mommyhood has been a wall I can lean on.
Smiles:
~ I'm convinced. Olivia is smiling. Her smiles come at the appropriate times for one to smile. Such as when Andrew or I make up a silly song, or today when I was talking to a friend and cradling her close, she looked most intently at my face and gave the most beautiful grin and kept on grinning! The tiredness I have felt getting up every 3 hours to feed her became worth it all over again.
~ Seeing my incredibly good looking husband caring for our girl makes my heart smile. Okay, so I smile on the outside, too. :) Andrew is all over this new Daddy stuff and it's SO much fun watching him with Olivia. His role as a Dad makes my love for him as my husband grow even deeper. And it's only been 10 days!
Seriously?!:
~ My folks got a Mac. While I am so proud that they're keeping up with more modern (cough...and superior) technology, it cracks me up to see them transition from being PC users. Andrew was extremely patient w/ Mom last week and gave her a crash course tutorial on how to use the new computer. I giggled from the other room hearing their long dialogue over how to use the touch pad. Parents, if you're reading this...I love you!
~ After my great excitement over the painted bunting, all we have devouring seed at the feeders are those hideous sparrows and pesky blue jays. Phooey. GO AWAY.
Skunk: Remember my post a while back about our neighbor having a Pepe' Le Phew live under his house? Yeah, that one. Well, yesterday Andrew took me around to the side of our storage building and pointed out a rather disturbing sight: A freshly burrowed cave under the storage building slab. It's identical to the one the neighbor had under his house. Grrrrreat. Anyone know how to get rid of a skunk in a non-smelly fashion???
Scissors:
My split ends got the better of me today. I found the scissors and went at it. Fear not, I only shortened what I previously had. It's really nice to have that fresh cut, healthy hair feel.
Well, time to get a move on. So long for now!
